Re: blue headlights
The headlights that the original poster is referring to are the
HID (high intensity discharge) lights that are seen on the A8, 911,
Mercedes SL, etc. There is a small article that talks about these
systems in June 98 European Car with the Audi Allroad on the cover.
Basically, a retrofit product does exist (PIAA has one), but it is like
$2000 for a real HID system and EU stated that it would be difficult to
fit the box that controls the system into most people's cars. The
Superwhite's from PIAA look very interesting. They are currently available
for H4 size, but by the end of the summer are supposed to be out with 900_
series. They are advertised to operate close to the same intensity level
as the HID lights. I would definitely be interested in seeing these in
person first so that I know that they aren't those awful bright blue
lights that seem to be all the rage with adnoH drivers. At my local
aftermarket store they are sold for $80 for a pair of H4's.
