Re: 4KQ for a teen, and teen driver bashing
Might as well chime in on this one. My first vehicle was an '82 Wabbit P-up
truck with a 1.7L gas and 4spd. It has no heat, or AC (but has the controls
and parts), needs new shifter bushings, new front shocks and springs (snow
plow truck, dontchakno), uses 1gal of H2O every time it's driven (no matter
how far), was hit 5 times while _parked_, has no headliner, needs a new
driver's seat, no radio, etc. Still kicked a Rustang V6's arse. I learned on
a 4spd (tricky one at that, 1st=R sometimes) because i wanted to, and that was
available to me. I then moved on to a 5ks auto, then 5ksq, and now have had
the CQ for over 1.5 years (doesn't seem like it's been that long). I almost
bought a CGT because I like it's looks and how it drives, but the car sold
before i could purchase it (that's why i went to hades and back getting the
5ksq). I will never again own an autobox car. Man. tranny's are not to tough
for teens to learn on, IMO all teens should be made to learn on them instead
of auto's. It may weed out many of the young drivers.
My 2 cents,
