It looks like the dealers are precluded by Audi from selling the micro fische. The dealer claims this ban will cease when the warranty is up on the A8. I doubt it!!! There is some hope however at least with respect to the machine. It appears as though the service material is on a smaller/standard size machine as opposed to the 7 X 9 for parts. If this turns out to be true, the local library as suggested by a lister would work for me. Some even offer hard copies. I will keep you posted on availability of the fische.

Folks- As part of the deal I made in buying a used A8 from an Audi dealer, he was to supply a full set of shop manuals. The deal is to be consumated on sat 18 July. He called tues to inform me that there are no manuals in hard copy available, and probably won''t for several years. He said they use micro fische for their maintenance. He offered to check on the price of the fische. Can someone tell me what I will encounter in trying to obtain a reader? Has anyone located a company who will make a hard copy from the fische?
