Cousin or not, don't get a Maaco paint job.  Especially for $3000.  You
will never be happy with it.  I recommend checking out a lot of shops,
and make sure they use PPG paint.  See what finished cars look like at
these shops.  Find out how long the warranty is, and what exactly it
covers.  If done properly, a re-paint job can be as durable as a factory
paint job--however, this is not the norm.  My front bumper on my A4 has
been repainted and has no chips on it, so I figure it was a good job.
