windshield question followed by accident description
Would the windshield from an 82' 4000 sedan fit that of an 85' 4000
sedan. Had an accident driving home from binghamton. I stopped to put
some gas in her, then i decided to check th oil. After putting a little
oil in her, i shut the hood. After i got on 17 East for about 5 miles
my hood lifted up as i was doing 55-60mph. It went right in to my
windshield, and cracked the whole glass except for a little part on the
drivers side. The hood bent backwards more after it hit the
windshield. Luckily there really wasn't any cars around me so i pulled
to the side of the road, and i had to bend back my hood and force it
back into the groove so it would lock. You see my hood cable has gotten
loose over some time. Whenever i pull on the lever i have to push it
all the way back up. I forgot, and that's what happened. Could have
been, much, much worse. The irony, is that I just changed my windshield
last week tuesday, because it had i crack since i bought it last
summer. its a good think that i have a parts car, so that i can change
the hood. I could look at it as a good excuse to paint my car i guess.
Thanks for your response.
