Misc Audi

Stopped at Carousel Audi here in the Twin Cities yesterday
on my way home from work, so I've got a few comments
to make.

1) The twin-projector headlights from a first generation A6
will not work on earlier a '93 90S. Parked next to one and
compared, the 90S has a more vertical demarcation between
the grill and headlight. Maybe an S series car will
work, but I don't know if they had the dual projector
    headlights.

2) Asked "Lonnie" in the parts department (decent guy) what
they do with the "old" parts fiche cards. Said he wasn't
really sure, but he believed that they gave them to body
shops. I might have to write a letter/email to the parts
manager to see if I can get my hands on a set.

3) Was looking around before being helped. Nice Audi logo
key rings, VERY nice Audi logo pen/pencil(mechanical)
set for $14.50 + tax. Bought the pen/pencil set. My fiance
thinks I've gone off the deep end. Oh well.
    Pen/pencil PN#AU123.

4) They had one of the plastic front under panels sitting there,
I asked how much the went for, around $200. YIPES! I said
I think I'll fabricate something or look in the junkyards,
Lonnie said that was probably the wisest decision.

5) For all you 2.8V6 owners out there. The plastic plenum
that directs air into the throttle body has a little rubbery
valve in it that controls blow-by gas recirc into the TB.
The only way to get that valve is to order the whole
plastic plenum, so if you plan to clean up your plenum
(as I do), you will need to be carefull when you try to
pull that valve out. I plan to lube it up with WD40 and
    carefully (!!!) pull it out.
