I'm playing with my car ('86 4kq), trying to figure out why there is no
vacuum to the switch for the center and rear diff. lock. In the process, I'm
wondering what this vacuum pump on the motor is supposed to do. All it boosts
is the brake vacuum, right? Why? Of all the cars I've owned, I don't recall
another that had a motor that was incapable of creating sufficient vacuum for
the brakes.
