RE: Microfiche reader FS

Thanks for the post but I think a few of us still do not understand the
microfiche difficulty.
The problem isn't the reader, the problem is the fiche (kind of an egg v
chicken arguement). The VW and audi microfiche sheets are approx 8" x 10"
(Apologies for non-US listers, these fiche are no doubt metric in
dimension). The standard fiche reader like at the library or university or
print shop accepts smaller microfiche which are then placed under the little
lifting glass panel.
In theory, one can use the US fiche readers, BUT doing so will pinch the
fiche, making further reading / copying impossible.
And scanning in theory would work, but most of us have been lucky just to
get the old fiche, which show many scratches, fading, pinches already.
Reading, copying and printing the images is proving hard enough. Cleaning
them up would take an incredibly longer period of time.
