Re: Quattro more expensive than FWD?

Eyvind Spangen decided to speak these words:

>Are quattro equipped cars likely to fail in the quattro system?
>I know that the possible expenses are high, but are the quattro with
>torsen-differential something that will break down sooner or later,
>before the rest of the car? I've heard scenarios about parts at a cost
>of $6000 and so on, are this true?

I dont think i have heard of anyone having problems with the center diff
in a quattro...sometimes after 250+k miles and poor lubrication, the rear
diff might go...but the tranny is incredibly stout as far as i know,
which isnt too much...i wouldnt worry about it
