The fuel pump circuit is one of the most stressed on an Audi. Bear in
mind that the circuit doesn't just power the fuel pump - it also
powers the heater in the warm-up regulator. If _that_ goes out of spec
it can damage the fusebox connections.

Many listers have added relays in the battery compartment to power the
fuel pump directly from the battery via a relay controlled by the
standard fuel pump relay. Some have reported better pump performance.
