That's ME!  My water pump would make a chirp-chirp noise
upon start-up, but would go away in a couple minutes. Didn't
worry about it too much, until the damn thing locked up
completely and left me on the side of the road. If the water
pump starts chirp, follow advice, get it replaced and while
you/they are in there, replace the timing belt and ANY idlers
that look questionable. (Don't forget the T-stat.)
