Audi typically has a 6 or 7 year model life. Since the A4 appeared
in the U.S. for the 1996 model year, I would expect a new model
to come out for 2002 or 2003.

This vary greatly regionally, and also vary on the specific model
that you're looking for. I think $1500 over invoice is probably
a reasonably good deal.
