Steve, yes you could simply have key made accoring to the code, but most
dealers don't like to do this.  But honestly, it would be no problem to make a
valet key from the original.  After all, the cutting of the key is the same,
it is merely that the Valet (assuming old style (ie. pre '96?) has a grove
with raised area between two flat-lengthwise cuts that the non -Valet key does
not have.  The dealer certainly should have valet key blanks.  I hope I
expressed this correctly, as I'm not a locksmith.  Maybe this will help:

Normal Key as seen lying flat and if you were the lock!

Valet Key:
