What do you mean by "fancy seats"? The only difference for the 2.8 is the
optional leather, and, if you wave enough money in front of the dealer, could
still get for the 1.8T (rumor) or have it done aftermarket.

Otherwise, you can get the sport seats in cloth for the 1.8T, if that's what
you're after. The stock seats on the 2.8 are, I admit, much better than the
"comfort seats" of the current 1.8T, but someone else posted that the seats may
be upgraded for '99.
