Re: help with a speeding ticket and cool driving story stuff...
Hi!
I'm bored at work; this must be the most messages I've
sent to the list in one day for months now. :)
This is turning out to be an interesting little thread
about using more lights up front for normal driving. :)
If it helps you see better without getting in
other motorists' way then I say use it. But how low
are those Miatas? I only see a few around here. Nice
little runabouts/roadsters, aren't they 1.8 litre
motors? They're quite low aren't they?
Anyway, I drive a beat-up ol' 200 and I too get
PO'd with "driving lights". Especially from BMW
drivers who never seem to know that they have
their foglamps on all the time. Foglamps seem to
be used alot these days as normal BMW driving lamps.
And, unlike the Audi, the rear and front fogs work
at the same time as far as I can tell (ie. front
on, rear on, whereas Audi is front only or front/rear
at the same time). The rear lamps get up my
nose. They run the front lamps just for show
as far as I can tell. I've become so annoyed
with BMW drivers running bright rear foglamps
when not necessary that I now pull passed them
and sit in front of them and put my rear fog
lamps on just to give them a taste of what
they're doing. In fact, last week I pulled
around a old BMW 5/7 series (mid-80s thing)
that had the rear lit up and I sat in front
of him with mine on (like the righteous
a**hole I've become lately on this matter),
he then took a offramp and I turned the fogs
off, at which point he came flying back out
the offramp onto the painted island just so
that he could flash his headlamps directly
at me before he had to pull off onto the
offramp again.
Anyway, some "driving" lights really ain't
so great especially when you get behind some
little low car.
Anyone also get PO'd at BMW owners running
full fog lamps all the time? You can spot
them from miles away. This is not restricted
to the older bimmers. I think the locals
(who love BMW iS and Ford 3litre V6 carb
motors [XR6] -- and also a 325iS with a
Ford heart...go figure) just run the damn
lights for show. Ack!
Sorry if this is off the thread, please
ignore if it is. :)
