Have recently seen 2 1990 90q's. Neither was 20valve. I thought all
quattros of that year were 20valve. One was for sale on a lot and I
figured something was amiss. Does a 10v even have enough power to push
one of these cars around? Only going by the badging on the rear deck.
Thanks.

As far as I know and as far as my 1990 brochures tell me, all the 1990-1991
90Qs had the 20V engine. Maybe these were late '89s that are being called
"1990s". The 80Q had the 10V engines, so it could be someone who did some
badge engineering.
As for power, the 10V 2.3 I5 does a good enough job of moving that 90Q around.
I recall 8.8 seconds to 60 or there abouts. The 20V 90Q does it in 7.9
seconds according to brochures.
