Re: Clutch Pedal Woes

Osman,

Another item to consider is the clutch pedal pressure increases as the
clutch disk wears. The clutch pressure plate operating lever inside the
transmission can also be binding/squeeking.

When I replaced the clutch pedal and the clutch master cylinder and
slave at the same time (115K miles), I noticed that the clutch pedal
pressure was still higher than another 200TQ I was working on.

When I looked under the dash and watched the clutch master cylinder when
I pushed the clutch pedal with my hand, the whole brake/clutch pedal
assembly/bracket was tweaking when I pushed the clutch pedal. Yikes!

I ended up replacing the clutch assembly and operating lever a few weeks
after my clutch pedal broke. My previous drag strip testing took it toll
on the clutch disk.....Now the required pedal pressure is lower and the
pedal assembly is no longer being tweaked when I push in the pedal.
