What princess was this? I automatically divert attention
away from any "news" of the "beautiful people", but if it
involves an Audi, it's of interest. There was an accident
in Brazil involving the husband of Ortencia (famous volley
ball player), he managed to crash an A8Q at +/- 160MPH,
and walked away with little more than a dislocated (broken?)
shoulder. Insurance company (paid out U$140K for car)
supposedly sold car to Audi which was to display it at
different dealerships. This is the only anecdotal
evidence of crash worthyness I've seen on the A8Q.
As for the V8Q, a quick look at the Service Training
booklet showing the extra bracing, steel Bowden cables
hooked to seat belt tensioners, hydraulic shocks in
bumpers, aluminum crossmembers, larger volume sill
panels and shielded arc welding seams suggest that
this is a pretty safe car in a collision. I hope
I never have to find out.
BCNU,
... Back up my hard disk? I can't find the reverse switch!
