Window Regulator Shock Absorbing Bolts

Hey all,

Does anyone know if the 'shock absorbing' bolts that attach the window
regulator motor to the door frame are available anywhere? The local Audi
parts desk says you have to buy an entire regulator assembly. What a joke
these guys are!!! If no one knows of a source, I am in the process of
fabricating some myself as we speak. I don't know how many other Audis out
there need this simple item to repair their window regulator problems, but
this is all that is needed for mine. They just rot and break, like all
good rubber parts do - mine are/will be better. I bet a bunch are needed
by owners out there. Drop me a line and let me know. They will be at a
fair price to recoup the small batch run process.

Also, the Audi dealer just IRRITATES the H*** OUT OF ME !!! I got a
replacement operating lever for the infamous piece that does/will break on
all these early 90's Audis door lock mechanisms (at least with the CQ's -
have owned two, both had this break in the drivers side door). Weeeelll,
they sold me the wrong one. The hole is a different shape !! This ticks
me off to no end. I also tried to make conversation with the guy, to start
us off on the right foot, and he just acted so much like I was putting him
out to ask him a damn question about part numbers, etc. I guess I can
forget trying to get any skinny on parts, replacement sources or tidbits of
advise/information. Unfortunately, I am a newby to this south east area
(Charlotte, NC) and know of no other walk-in places to get parts. How
different than Valley Audi in the Pleasanton, CA area where I lived
previously. I asked them about changing something over to what a different
model had and they gave me a book with all the parts breakdowns and
diagrams, etc. and said go for it. How great! Anyway, South VW/Audi just
rates at the lowest level in my book and tomorrow I am going to go and chew
some a**. By the way, this is the second time I have had very poor
response and service from these folks. I gave them the benefit of the
doubt the first time. If anyone has a different opinion, please let me
know. I would love to know who the 'right' people are to talk to.
