The VW-Porsche 914 actually had a great number of Porsche parts and as many
914 only parts.  The engine in 4-cyl. guise was a development of the Type 4
engine.  Front suspension and transmission, for example, were lifted from a
911.  A good 914 2.0 4-cyl. in Euro guise will outrun a 914-6 in stock
form...

The car was manufactured by Volkswagen-Porsche KG.
