Funny you mention this. I was in Phoenix a few weeks ago and saw no less than
4
of them. Each one seemed to have a late model beetle either in front of it or
behind it. I saw Blue, Green, Light Green and black A3's. The local dealer
said they were doing hot weather testing. Last week when I was in Germany
there
were obviously millions of them and they appeared to be the same. I wonder if
they are bringing them to the US? If so I hope they are unchanged from the
model found in germany.

What this is most likely is the hot weather testing for the new S3. They
would not be hot weather testing the current A3, so it must be the upcoming S3
turbo. I could pretty much say that Audi will never bring the A3 to the US.
It just wouldn't fit in it's US line up. Audi tried this lower priced concect
with the 80, and it failed. US customers are too brand concious; example - in
Europe, there is no Acura....the are all Hondas. You can sell a $13,000 car
next to a $70,000 in Europe, but never here.
