gas station rip offs
Since we're on the subject of gasoline, one of my pet peeves is how the gas
station pump is calibrated in hundredths of a gallon and our cars get a
virtual abacus. Anyone else pump 10 gallons into a tank that was half empty?
Coincidentally, this happens at stations that have the lowest prices: "wow!
I'm saving $.05! wow! I get 10% less gas!" 60 mins. or Dateline, or some show
like that did an expose that showed how easy it is for gas station owners to
adjust output; it amounts to removing the pump cover and turning a screw. Does
this bug anyone else?
I just want to be able to _know_ if I'm getting ripped off so I can take my
business elsewhere.
