audi model plans (s3 etc.)

from a recent autocar, the following is revealed about audi's model
plans for the next few years...

tt coupe	1998
a4 facelift	1999
s3, a3 4-door	1999
a8 facelift	1999
a6 v8	1999
tt roadster	1999
s6 v8 bi-turbo	1999
a8 v8 bi-turbo	1999
a6 allroad	2000
a2	2000
a4 new model	2001

the article has extensive details about the new s3.  details are as
follows:

intention: a "pure focused performance car" in the mode of the
ur-quattro (!) and the s2 (huh?).
motor: approx 210hp via an uprated (boost and larger intercooler) 1.8 5
valve.
drivetrain: haldex developed and based awd system.  fully variable
torque split (tors*en thread alert) front to rear.
rear suspension: twin tranverse links, lateral radius arm, separate
spring/damper units.
wheels: 7.5x17" (!)
brakes: "upgraded with big discs and race track-honed calipers"
cosmetic changes: few, larger front apron, small rear bumper extension,
hatch spoiler.
performance:  0-60 in low 6's. 155 top speed.

other item of interest is a quattro (gmbh) produced a3 1.8t, the 1.8t
plus with an uprated version of the turbo 1.8 producing 180hp.
