Hydro Pump Repair Success/Now Gods are Angry

The shaft seal on the hydraulic pump in my '91 200 tq has been replaced.
(Thanks Jeff) After about an hour of runtime still no leaks. 5 minutes
would make a 4" spot on the ground before.
However, as I was parking near a european auto repair shop at lunch
time, I began to see a little steam and noticed _lots_ of coolant
running onto the ground. It was clear that I had developed a sudden,
large coolant leak. Any guesses? That's right! The afterun coolant pump
inlet snapped off. There was about a hose clamp width worth of inlet
left. I ended up getting a new clamp and borrowing a nut driver the
right size to attempt a repair. The hose kept slipping off. I filed
little grooves in the plastic with a Swiss army knife and the hose
gripped it enough to hold.(I need proper tools in all 4 cars.)
Here's the real catch. The reason I was over there was to look at an
'84 4kq for $750. It was actually in much better shape than another
similarly priced '84 I had seen recently, but I think the gods are
telling me that 4 Audi's is enough.
The pleasure usually outweighs the torture,

P.S. I rode my bicycle back to work
