Brakes

I've just gone through a lot of email posts related to brakes, but I'm
still not clear on the advantages of fitting larger brakes to these beasts
for street use. The advantages seem clearer for track use, since much
appears related to fade.

For street use, I tend to look for 2 points. One is maximum stopping power
in an emergency. The other is feel. The latter has motivated me to use
Pagids front and rear, including throwing out a fairly new set of Repcos.
I also use Brembo drilled rotors front and rear, and have SS lines due in
the next few days. I'd like to think these changes have/will also somewhat
increase the absolute stopping power, but I'm not so sure. Does anyone
have any test results that would support this? Any thoughts on the
subject, even nerd-level?

If I do go to one of the caliper/rotor upgrades, would I also need to
change the master cylinder? ...the front/rear proportioning valve? Can I
get rear pads to match, or change the rear calipers as well? Which
conversions would live in a 15 or 16" wheel. Certainly not the Big Reds or
AP Racing. I just drove the beast back from Tahoe today and really enjoyed
its feel. I wouldn't mind it a bit harder, but not a lot. I drive it on
real roads. Would I like a 17" wheel? How do I tell?

TIA
