rear diff mounts and a leaky diff

If anyone remembers a post about rear differential mounts then I managed
to find time to replace them the other day. No problems at all. Once the
car is on axle stands you can use the jack to support the diff as you do a side
at a time, lowering it slightly to get the old mount off and the new one on.

I didn't replace the central mount as it looks fine (famous last words), needs
the subframe removing to replace it (?) and I didn't have time. I _didn't_ use
thread lock on the bolts but they had some yellow 'stuff' on them, does anyone
know if these need thread locking compound on them (ok so I still need to get a
copy of the Bently)? One of the mounts had completely collapsed and the other
looked well gone too.

I have it in mind to try and do a rear end overhaul before the winter to
replace the remaining mount and check my slightly leaky rear diff. It is leaking
from the left hand side, the side that has the plate bolted to it. I can't
work out whether it is coming from the plate or the where the drive flange
enters the diff unit. That will be my weeks holiday this summer, cool...

Graham.

P.S. It is so nice going over speed bumps without hearing a clonking sound
that I've been going out in the car especially...
