Re: Autostick/tiptronic

But only of an emasculated WR.

Wellll....mine is a substantially "enhanced" one...those older heavy
S4s pose no great challenge (stock, anyways). However, that said, the
UrQ (and, to my knowledge/experience, no Audi of any ilk, possibly
excepting the "Sport Quattro" chopped UrQ two-seater 350+HP engined
model) is just not a "Sports Car" in the classical sense of the term.
My Lotus Europa *IS* a "Sports Car", thinly-disguised race car that
it really is at heart. The Mazda Miata is a "Sports Car", if a tad
hefty (and underpowered, stock).

I have difficulty calling anything over a ton (or tonne) a "Sports
Car". Of course "underpowered" is also almost de rigeur for a "Sports
Car", and Audi does excell at that aspect.

Hmmm . . . our '57 T-Bird? I wonder . . . two seater . . . open top
not underpowered, though . . .

To paraphrase (quote as best as I can remember) Satch Carlson:

I'll call a Corvette [insert: UrQ, S4, whatever] a "Sports Car" when
it can take my Lotus on an inside corner [tight slalom, whatever].

Oh well, back to our regularly scheduled blathering.
