Transmission Woes

Some of you might recall my question regarding my "Barking"
transmission.  Well . . .

Now at the dealer the car is having the   . . . radiator replaced.   As
I understand it, the transmission has a cooler that is connected in some
way to the radiator.  Apparently, secondary to some malfunction, the
transmission fluid got into the radiator and the radiator coolant has
leaked into the transmission.

Now, from my vantage point this is interesting stuff.   However, it
still doesn't explain to me why the car "barked" (slipped) only between
2nd and 3rd gear.

Oh yeah, it's a 1993 100cs, automatic.  38K.
