My finacee used to own an '86 Mazda 323. I learned where the idlemixture screw
was and started to play with it. I had to as the place
we bought the car from had cranked it up instead of replacing a
choked air filter (it would have NEVER passed emissions).
I managed to get that car to idle very well, and it passed emissions
(in Minnesota) with flying colors. The readouts for both readings,
(two gasses) both read 0.00. How I managed that I'll never know,
but she was sure a happy camper.
