I kind alike the Sportage -- definitely cute and CHEAP. That seems like

Yes, that is the Lotus Elan... or was. Kia bought the rights to it some
time ago and was planning a US launch, I believe, for the 1999 or 2000
model year. But I believe that current economic situations put that off
indefinitely.
It has a different powerplant (no more Isuzu) and a different
suspension. So, for most of us, that means it isn't really a Lotus
anymore. Still, they are pushing for a sub-$25k mark on that car if and
when they bring it to our shores.
It sports a 1.8l 4-banger to get you to 100km/h in 7.4s...whoopieeee. Get
a _real_ Elan, one of the supposedly 800 send to the US, for around $20k.
