RE: Idle screw?



Hmmm,  I usually turn the car off and park it before I s***      Doh,
sorry, wrong list for that.  I hate it when my mind confuses things like
that.

    No offense taken I hope.   Just couldnt resist.
Serioulsly though.  I thought that it was just there for fine tuning.
I dont think that there is a rule of thumb but I know mine went bad a
while back and would always back out.  Then It would whistle really
loudly.  I mean REALLY LOUD>   Everyone would look at me.   Stop, use
the cool Audi Screwdriver, and fix it while worring about breaking my
intake boot.   Does it change mixture much or just idle speed.  I spose
they are related so I would guess the farther in the richer the engine.
farther out leaner as it lets more air in.  I am just speculating.  Or
babbling if you want to look at it that way.  L8R
