1984 Audi 100 Automatic

What is very important to check on a 1984 Audi 100 with automatic
transmission (yes, I want an automatic :-))
I can't afford the most expensive cars yet, as I am a student, but I'm
getting tired of sharing a car with my parents..
Of course a japanese car as a Mazda, Honda, Toyota etc. will be less
expensive to have, but as the big Audi fan I am, I want an Audi even
if it will cost me some $$$.

So - back to the case: What should I check except the "normal" stuff
on a 14 year 100?
