Help! Fan problem

Listers:  The radiator fan on my '86 5000 turbo will not shut off after a 
hard run.  Run down battery left my wife stranded at the airport Saturday 
as she was seeing off some relatives.  The only way to get the thing to 
shut down is to bump the starter.  It then immediately shuts off and will 
not come back on until driven again.  Help!! 

I've been out of town and can't resubscribe for some reason.  Please
