Re: 1986 4000S, Oil Pressure & Temperature Gauges
Peter,
I have a 4000 gauge in my urQ that peaks at 150 C. If you get this
version, you need to make sure you get the matching sending unit. You can't
match a standard aftermarket VDO gauge to the Audi sending units.
I've seen the temp reading in my car approach 130 C, but only under
sustained boost, up hill with 4 people aboard in 100 deg temperatures with
the AC on full. Otherwise it stays between 100 and 105C.
I don't know your car, but I believe the urQ has an oil thermostat that
tries to keep the oil @ 100.
