Seat heat

As posted, I did the seat heater repair on the passenger seat.

The microfiche is very misleading and implies that you cut slits in the
_outside_ of the seat cover - I wonder if any monkey boys have ever done
this?

Anyway - doing it properly showed me that the repair to the driver's
seat was incorrectly done. So last night I removed, stripped and redid
the driver's seat, putting the element inside the cover - where it was
supposed to be all along. I had always known that the seatback got warm
quicker than the seat itself ...

One hour and fifteen minutes, from undoing the seat retaining bolt to
doing it up again.

On a related subject - it's nice to get a free one. When John Coughtrie
sold me his Coupe GT, he included a few spares - among them, an
alternator. He apologised at the time, saying that he thought it was
the wrong one for the car.

He was right. It's for the ur-quattro from 85GA900001 onwards - so my
dying alternator will be replaced before the winter.
