Re: urq G60 brake conversion question

The reason I am going with the G60s is price for performance. My
brother found a set of G60 calipers in the junkyard for $40. Tack on
a set of KVR carbon fiber brake pads and a set of rotors and for
under $300 I have (theoretically) improved my braking performance
for the track. Audi felt the G60 caliper was an improvement for
the urquattro in '87, so it must be an improvement for my '82.
Going to any larger brakes would require significantly more dollars,
because, as far as I know, the next step up would be 312mm or 330mm
rotors with 4-piston calipers (e.g. big reds, AP racing, Alcon, etc.).
In the future I would like to go with larger brakes, but for the next
few years (as I recover financially from the urq purchase, then go
on to fix up the suspension) the G60 conversion will have to suffice.
