My brother-in-law works for a glass installing company and used to install new
windshields. Most windshields are held in with black urethane. This stuff is
extremely sticky and very messy. I highly doubt if you would be able to get a
windshield out of a car without cracking it. You are better off just having a
professional install a new one. They have all the necessary tools to remove
the old one, properly clean up the mounting surfaces, and install the new one.
