Re: Oil Pressure loss?

Well, it was as I expected:-). The Oil Pressure sending unit of the v8 went
south, as we like to say in the US of A. Unfortunately, I couldn't devote the
time to fix the problem myself and the my local friends at Auto Europe tested
the Oil pressure witha mechanical gauge. As you might recall, my gauge showed
less than 1 bar regardless of RPM, whereas the mechanical guage read around
2-3 bar when warm. So my pocketbook is somewhat lighter, but not as light as
it might have been. Haven't picked up the old sending unit yet, so I'm not
sure about origianl PN#. However, my readings now are the following with Oil
temp at 100 C:

  750 rpm 2 bar
1300 rpm 3 bar
1800 rpm 4 bar
2200 rpm 5 bar
2300 rpm 5 bar+

Thanks to all who lent their support and advice. This list certainly is
reassuring.
