Re: Engine bay washing
One bottle of Simple Green.
One garden hose w/ spray nozzle.
One water heater.
One warm engine.
Hook hose to output of water heater. Attach spray nozzle. Turn on water
heater output. Open hood. Spray full-strength Simple Green all over.
Let soak for a little while. Spray engine with hose.
I've done this many times on all my Audis, my GTI, my mom's Honda, and a
friend's VW Cabrio. Never had one fail to start, although once in a
while it will not run very well for a little while. Just don't get too
agressive with the spray nozzle around sensitive items like spark plugs,
intake areas, and electrics.
Those sprayers at do-it-yourself car washes have much stronger sprays
than the average garden hose. I would suggest being very delicate with
one of those.
