What about a stone stuck between the disc and the pad?
Also, check that the pads can slide backwards and forwards easily.
The pad carrier often rusts very badly, and then you get uneven wear of the
pads and sticking brakes (which squeal). Another possibility is a rusted
calliper (could be expensive).
