I decided, after getting stopped last Tuesday, to take it easy on the
way home from Roger's. Fat lot of good it did me.

I was behaving myself on the A427 at around sixty, give or take a
little, when a _large_ truck decided to turn across my path. I hit
the brakes hard, and was damn near rear-ended by the idiot behind losing
control under braking.

Then he switched on his blue light and tried to do _ME_ for travelling
too fast for the conditions!!!!!

I'm afraid he got told where to take it. Unaccompanied officers in
non-traffic cars are not supposed to engage in pursuits - I doubt very
much that he had a Class 1 permit. If he'd wanted me to stop, he should
have used his blue light, and if he was following me for any other
reason he should have maintained a safe distance. I could stop well
within the distance I could see.

Didn't fix Roger's problem, either, which was a screaming noise from
(we think) the front right wheel bearing. On checking, we found the
caliper binding, so we rebuilt that. Fixed _that_ problem, but a test
drive proved we hadn't fixed the scream.
