audi sport uk looks for work

autosport has a story about audi sport uk quoting ceo john wickham
admitting talking to honda about running their super touring team for
next year's btcc if, as appears more and more likely, audi refuses to
build a new fwd chassis just for the btcc. the present fwd a4's use the
a4 quattro chassis...

wickham has also expressed interest in helping audi with the sports car
project...

anoth pointer is that former audi super touring star yvan muller has
confirmed signing with vauxhall for next year...

with this years withdrawl of the factory teams, the signs are there that
audi will follow bmw and pull out of all super touring involvement next
year, and leave it all to the privateers.

interestingly, the signs over gt1 are also not promising with porsche
looking likely to pull out after their drubbing by m-b this year.
conversely, sports cars looks to be getting along pretty well, with
nissan committing to a le mans sports car project, along with audi and
bmw. nissan's support might pull in the toms (toyota) boys who went
*so* close at le mans this year.

williams are also getting into p-r mode over the decision of bmw not to
run their f1 mill this year. the first motors were rumoured to be very
disappointing, with poor power, high weight, and not much reliability.
perhaps paul roche could use some french or british (gasp) help?
