90 climate control

I finally broke down and brought my 90q20v to the dealer to solve the AC
problems.  They said that the first thing to do would be to recharge the freon
and that that might fix the problem.  The problem is that when I hit AUTO or
BILEV or ECON no air come through the vents.  Defrost still works though.
Doesn't this sound like (much) more than just a freon recharge problem?  I
don't want to waste the money on the freon recharge if it's gonna cost
additional big bucks to get the AC back in shape.  Any thought?
