Relay going berserk in 200t

This  morning on the way to work a relay went schizoid under the drivers
right dash. I haven't pulled it apart yet, but knowing VAG cars there must
be at least 30 relays down there. This one just starting along merrily
clicking away, opening and closing rapidly and regularly for no apparent
reason. There is no indication of anything wrong, everything
functions...which is perhaps what worries me. Perhaps there is some
sinister plot about to be hatched from the deep bowels of my wife's Audi?
Have I offended the Gods?

Has anyone else experienced this one?
