Winter Wheels for 200 tq + Rear Differential Seal Question
Thanks to everyone for the advice/information about winter wheels for my
1990 200 tq. I'll probably go with the 15 x 6 steel wheels as long as I
can confirm that their offset is correct. I agree that alloy wheels
look much better than steel. My alloys are in pretty good shape, except
for the damage that has been done when I had the tires changed over in
the fall and spring. Junk yard wheels are an option, but seem to cost
way too much here in MN and they are often in poor shape (bent, dented,
scraped, etc.) I can get new steel wheels for $37 + $6 shipping per
wheel. That way I avoid the hassel of buying, mounting, dismounting,
trying to return, mounting, and so forth.
A second quick question. Does anyone have slight leakage from the drive
shaft seal on the rear differential of their 200 tq? I'm losing about
1-2 drops a day from mine. I've had it up on blocks for a couple of
months while I replaced parking brake cables, changing the brake fluid
and other minor stuff. I filled the rear differential to the bottom of
the hole and now notice a slow leak. Per Bentley, it looks like this
seal is not the easiest one to replace. It appears that it is internal,
rather than external like the axel seals. Any ideas??
