One touch\down\up
hi! I found this information about P\W maybe all of you know this but maybe
help(I think).. on the A4 1996 work likes this..
The p\w have four operating modes>
- one-touch down(all windows)
- one-touch up(front windows only)
- Convinience closing(incliding sunroof)
- Pinch protection(including sunroof)
The p\w operate when the ignition is switched to the "on" position.
They will also work after the ignition has been switched off or until a
front door is opened. A safety switch is provided to de-activate the rear
windows.
Any windows can be opened automatically(one-touch down) to its full open
position by briefly tapping the power windows switch. The windows can be
stopped by tapping the power windows switch again.
The front windows can be closed automatically(one-touch up) by briefly
lifting the window switch. To raise the rear window, the power window switch
must be held in the up position untill the window is closed.
For convenience, the windows and sunroof can be closed from outside the
vehicle at either front door by holding the vehicle key in the lock
position.
Pinch protection prevent object from being caught in the window during
operation. The sensors and evaluation electronics are integral with the
window motor control unit. The working range of the pinch protection start 4
mm below the window's fully closed position and extend 200 mm downward.
Pinch protection does not operate in the last 4 mm window travel in order to
let the window close completely.
When an object prevent the window from being raised.it will lower 125 mm
automatically.
To function properly, the motor control module must "learn and memorize" the
position of the windows.
This is done by a magnetic ring mounted on the motor shaft and two Hall
sensor located on the control module. The Hall sensor count the number of
motor revolutions thus calculating the position of the window between the
fully closed and fully open.
If the vehicle battery is disconected during repair, the power window system
must be reprogrammed. If the window are not reprogrammed, the one-touch down
, one-touch up or pinch protection features will not operate!!!!
Reprogramming is done like this
-lower all the windows
-From the outside of the vehicle, raise the window using the key in the door
lock cylinder.
-After the windows are raised, turn the key in the lock position once, wait
three seconds then
turn the key in the lock position again....
