And how do you stop the motor?  they don't stop on their own.   Watch
your voltmeter next time the window ends its travel.  I did once have a
drivers side switch that would stick in the down position for a bit. 
Until I realised it was broken I kinda liked it...

What we (?) want is a retrofit "kit" that will allow a quick tap to
lower the window all the way and then stop, and perhaps raise it too,
while allowing normal operation for longer than momentary touches.  No
broken switches permitted in this event, please.

the steering wheel isn't connected to anything, it's just a place to
rest your hands
