RE: 5KCSTQ - Exhaust
When the exhaust on my 87 5000CST went bad i had my inde mechanic =
install a Bosal system(not stainless). 1.5 years later-no problems... it =
seems pretty much like stock; maybe a slightly more throaty sound. If I =
remember correctly it was ~$400. You have to pay extra ~$40, for the =
warranty though. I was cheap and didn't do it as I was going to sell the =
car soon. I would recommend buying it though.

Subject: 5KCSTQ - Exhaust
Help again --
The exhaust seems to have come detached from it's rubber-thingies and is
knocking around something fierce underneath. It looks like it's hanging
pretty low -- but it doesn't 'feel' like it's gonna just fall off.
There is a distinct growl coming from right under the driver's side =
floor
-- and I can feel the system knocking around over bumps. The clamps =
that
hold the rubber-thingies are pretty much rotted away -- and I think/hope
that this is what's' causing the rumble.
No holes, fumes, etc. -- not even enough rust to warrant this type of
sound.
I think it can be rigged -- thoughts? If I do need a new exhaust -- =
should
I invest in something like a Scorpion? Who makes the best exhaust -- =
and
what brand will give me more hp relatively inexpensively?
I'd much rather rig it if possible and wait till spring if I can (think
so), but if it has to go -- I want to be prepared NOT to but one from =
the
dealer --- and to never go to Midas.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks!
Richard
