Re: Advice on replacing stereo in 200TQAv

1) I want to upgrade to a new sound system w/ CD changer. Are there any
tricks to removing the console face plate to get at the stock
receiver/cassette player?

The stereo should just pullout after you stick a coat
hanger into the 4 holes on the deck....

To get at the wire's behind it... There a few screws in the
fabric coverings on either side of the console.

Has anyone found a particularly good place to
mount a remote CD changer?

	Nope.

Do I have to remove the whole dash (along w/
steering wheel) to replace the front speakers?

Don't think so, You should be able to pry the covers off. The mesh
is seperate from the air vent.. Be carefull!!!

2) I need to replace the circuit board that controls the speedo, dash
lights, diagnostic system; how do I remove the instrument cluster, again
without removing the whole dash?

What's wrong with it ? I'm unfortunately very familiar with the
inner workings of the cluster :-) or should it be a :-(

And no the whole dash doesn't need to come out.

	- remove the plastic shround around the blinker, light, hazard stalks.
	- unscrew the slim dash peice just above it that lines the bottom
	  of the gauges.
	- Unscrew the dash cluster and carefully pull, it will evetually come
out. Comes out better from the left/passenger side.

	- no need to remove the steering wheel, although it makes removal of the
	  cluster easier....

3) I would like to install a class I towing hitch to pull a light sailboat.
I haven't been able to find a hitch manufacturer that makes one for this
model. Will I have to get one custom built, or does Audi make one? There
seems to be holes in the frame where one would bolt in.

This one's easy :-) go to the coimbra home page and look for Dalan
	Hitch under the vendor listing.

Thanks in advance for your help.
