Re: Fwd: Audi A8 Achieves Highest Possible Safety Test Rating

I figured it out today when I pulled out my old dusty college physics book
and took it to work to read during lunch. Double the energy to dissipate
but also double the number of "identical" cars. Cetarus paribus,
inelasticity, etc... yep equal. This is one of those things that really
drove me crazy about Dynamics; that and all those movies that showed items
moving all over the place and you assumed a fixed camera but then you saw
the camera was moving (cool the second time around but the test was during
the first time around :-( ). Dynamcis was the reason I never became an
engineer in college (well, that and Calc 3). Architecture majors only
needed to take a Statics class. That was easy... :-)

So, I retract my uncalled for and gratuitous comment about Team Door Handle
not understanding Physics. :-)
